Another Classmate Is Gone


Dear Classmates – I am sorry to report we have lost another member of our class – Lou Anne Geary Allen. She passed peacefully in Hospice care after a long illness on March 18. A short obituary is shown below. Condolences may be sent to the family at the following address:

Obituary -- Lou Anne Allen 
March 18, 2012
Lou Anne Allen, 69, of Queen Creek, AZ, died peacefully in hospice care on March 18, 2012, after a long illness. A native of DeWitt, Lou Anne was the widow of John F. Allen. She moved to Arizona in 2000 to be near family. She studied x-ray technology at Saranac Lake X-Ray Guild in Saranac Lake, NY, receiving her degree in 1960. She then worked as an x-ray technician at St Joseph's Hospital until 1999.
Growing up, Lou Anne was a parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church, DeWitt. She and John were later parishioners of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Minoa.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary A. Crowder of Queen Creek, AZ, and a son, Michael P. Allen of Gulfport, FL. Lou Anne was predeceased by husband John and daughter Michelle as well as her sister, Mary Lou Geary. Also surviving are grandchildren Peyton and Dillon Crowder and Benjamin and Noah Allen as well as two brothers, David F. Geary (Kathy) of Annapolis, MD, and Robert J. Geary (Marie) of Brewerton.
A memorial service will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Holy Cross Church, DeWitt.
Burial will be in St Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
